What our team says

  • image of person

    Design Engineer

GPS is well thought of by its customers because we build good panels. Designing them is rewarding because there can be a thousand parts to put together. We are using more standard design blocks now, but every panel is still different in some way.

    Panel Wireman

I joined GPS in 2023. I like the factory because its bright and modern, and the people work well together. Some of them started 30 years ago as apprentices are still here now, mostly managers now, so that’s a good sign.

    Nigel Harrison

    Managing Director

When we first started thirty years ago, we tried to be a successful business with a family feel, create a good place to work, a job with future. In 2018 we revisited that plan to create a workplace for a different time, different expectations from customers and employees alike. Starting with modernisation, we relocated to an up-to-date factory and re-equipped it. Then we developed a new range of new products that have taken us into new industry sectors that has seen us grow.

    Technical Director

We’ve built a great team, from recent graduates to experienced engineers, creating software for controlling complex processes, writing code for PLC HMI and SCADA applications which could be for a water treatment works, a renewable energy plant, a brewery, or a mine. Its varied and challenging work with a mix of working on customer sites, and from home, but all our engineer’s come together one day a week to engage as a team, sharing information, planning projects, maybe getting a burger together after work, which makes for great team spirit. And the massive growth in industrial automation means exciting opportunities working at GPS-Links.
