Safety Health and Wellbeing Policy Statement

Occupational Health & Safety Policy Statement: 2019-2020

Introduction: GPS and GPS Links provide control and automation systems and services for process industries, employing a skilled engineering workforce across mechanical and electrical design, manufacturing, software, test and systems integration disciplines.

Operating under a single SHWEQ management system, both companies are committed to being safe, ethical and sustainable businesses that serve their customers efficiently and professionally, and operate with respect for people and the environment.

Objective: To minimise the risk of injury and work-related ill heath to our employees, and all other stakeholders.

Policy: GPS and GPS Links will maintain a safe place of work and ensure safe methods of working that adequately protect its employees, customers, contractors and communities. The company will conduct appropriate risk assessments, staff consultations and training; provide adequate control measures for the safe use of plant, equipment and hazardous materials, and maintain standards across all functions.

Target: Our target is an incident free workplace, with zero-harm to people. Our practical aim, recognising that it is not a risk-free world, is prevention, by managing identifiable risks to reduce the potential for injury or illness to the lowest possible level for every workplace or site scenario.

Responsibility: Overall responsibility for health and safety policy, procedures and performance rests with the directors of GPS and GPS Links, who are committed to high standards of compliance, professional competence, and the allocation of appropriate resources for health and safety in the workplace and the wellbeing of employees.

Compliance: GPS and GPS Links comply with all relevant legislation, regulation, industry standards and codes of practice, as well as individual customer requirements; and operate a Health and Safety Management System certified to OHSAS 18001-2007.

Competence: All employees receive appropriate information, training and supervision concerning hazards and risk management relevant to their duties, and are made aware of their personal responsibility to ensure that their actions do not put themselves or others at risk.

Continual improvement: GPS and GPS Links strive for continual improvement in health and safety performance, which is informed by inspection and audit procedures, positive intervention reporting and customer feedback.
