Project Delivery / Outcome

GPS replaced the Form 4 MCC and LV distribution systems within the existing enclosures based on a phased removal and installation programme to convert the functional units. Starters were replaced with low-harmonic VSD’s, and two harmonic filters were added to mitigate the impact of inverters that would otherwise exceed temperature rise limits and cause electrical interference beyond the site boundary. The work was carried out with minimal shutdowns restricted to low demand time slots.
